Saturday gates are open 1:30-9:30 ET and Sunday gates are open 12:30-8 ET. There will be 4 bands playing each day.

Yes, kids are welcome, but please know the music will be loud and there will be alcohol being served.  Kids 18 and under are free.

Please keep kids away from the pond and stay close to them when it gets dark at night. Unattended children will be fed to the bears

Casual. This event is outdoors and is rain or shine. Please dress for forecasted weather. This is a farm and there are no paved areas so dress shoes are strongly discouraged (especially if the ground is wet).

The Highlands Plateau is located approximately 2 hours from Atlanta, Greenville, and Asheville. Get directions here.  Base Camp is located at Winfield Farm, 250 Winfield Farm Road, Scaly Mountain, 28775 . There is limited parking available onsite so please pre-purchase your passes in advance to ensure you have a reserved spot. We highly recommend carpooling or taking the complimentary shuttles running from The Highlands Community Center,  Highlands School and Regions Bank in Downtown Highlands.

There are a variety of hotels, Inns and rental homes available in The Highlands Plateau.  Don’t delay as inventory can be limited! You can browse options here.

Free shuttles will run continuously between The Highlands Community Center, Highlands School, Regions Bank Highlands and Winfield Farm. See schedule below. Limited on-site parking will be available for $25 per car, each day. Get your daily parking passes at the ticket page before they’re gone. 

Saturday: 1:00-10:00pm (until all guests transported)

Sunday: 12:00-9:00pm (until all guests are transported)

**We remind fans to be thoughtful to Highlands business and shop owners when parking. We encourage you to park at the following locations that will allow easy access to shuttle stops:

  1. Highlands Community Center (869 N 4th Street, Highlands, NC 28741)
  2. Highlands School (545 Pierson Dr., Highlands, NC 28741)
  3. 3rd Street between Spring and 4th
  4. Oak Street between 3rd and Dillard Road

There is limited parking available onsite so please pre-purchase your passes in advance to ensure you have a reserved spot. Winfield Farm located at 250 Winfield Farm Road, Scaly Mountain, NC 28775.  Should you choose to drive, PLEASE carpool, and have a designated driver.

Bear Shadow is offering complimentary shuttles to and from Highlands. These shuttles will be leaving from three locations listed in the question above.

Unfortunately, there is no Uber or Lyft available in The Highlands Plateau. If you prefer private car service, you can contact: Mountain Motorcoach. We will continue to post private car options as they become available.

Base Camp is an outdoor-only area and music acts will happen rain or shine. Please be prepared for forecasted weather. Should major weather arise, such as lighting or high winds that threaten the safety of fans, artists or crew, the Festival reserves the right to delay or cancel the show. All ticket holders will be contacted via email or SMS text should this occur.

All ticket holders will have their ticket scanned at the entrance to the events.  2-Day ticket holders will be given ONE wristband for the weekend.  Do not take or cut this wristband off.  Replacements will not be given.

Cell service at the venue is limited, so we recommend taking a screenshot of your QR code for
each ticket or printing it out.

Don’t worry if you can’t find your ticket in your email—all tickets will automatically be emailed to the purchaser 24 hours prior to the start of the event.

Your wristband allows you into the event once. You cannot leave and re-enter.

Do not lose your wristband – these are not replaceable. Individuals not wearing a wristband will not be allowed entry, no exceptions. The plastic security lock on the wristband is a one-way lock. Do not play with this lock to tighten the band too much. No wristbands will be replaced.

Empty water bottles ​​​​​​are ok, as we will have a refillable water station. We are also providing all guests with 1 reusable cup this year for beverages to help elevate the use of plastic.  There will be complimentary beverages on site.

There is no public Wi-Fi and cell service at the venue is limited so we recommend taking a screenshot of your QR code for each ticket or printing it out.

  • Ticket – Take a Screenshot of Your QR code or print it out.
  • Government issued photo ID
  • Camping chair and/or blankets for seating.
  • Cash/Card for additional food or merchandise
  • Empty water bottle for potable water stations
  • A backpack to store jackets or blankets Note: There will be bag checks at the gates.
  • Appropriate clothes for forecasted weather. This is a rain or shine event.
  • Pets
  • Coolers
  • Outside food or beverages
  • Illegal drugs
  • Guns
  • Cigarettes – this is a non-smoking event
  • Bad attitudes

If you have a GA ticket, you will be able to purchase food from multiple food trucks and food vendors.  You can find all food vendors here.  
If you have a VIP ticket, you can enjoy complimentary small plates from The Crafty Goat and Indaco. You will also have full access to purchase additional food vendors throughout the festival grounds.

General Admission ticket holders can enjoy included beer, wine, water and other non-alcoholic beverages. Because of the location of our festival and the special event liquor laws in Macon County, we cannot offer additional alcoholic beverages for sale.

VIP ticket holders can enjoy included elevated beer, wine and cocktail brands. There are also numerous non-alcoholic options available including Liquid Death, Walker Brothers Kombuchas, Coke products and more.  For a complete list of beverage options, take a look here.

*We ask that you please drink responsibly.  Please have a designated driver or take advantage of our free Festival shuttles to and from Highlands.  Bear Shadow reserves the right to remove any patron that is not drinking responsibly.

Remember to bring your cash or cards!  Festival and artist merchandise will be available on-site for purchase.  Pre-order festival merch now and pick it up at the festival! We will also have a variety of artisan and retail vendors on site.  For a complete list, take a look here
