About Bear Shadow

Dreamed up during a worldwide pandemic, Bear Shadow music festival made its debut in April 2021. A sister festival to the highly esteemed Highlands Food & Wine, Bear Shadow is now a phenomenon all to itself, bringing celebrated artists to The Highlands Plateau, NC for a weekend of music, mountains, and revelry each spring.

The Highlands-Cashiers Plateau

The scenic Highlands Plateau is in the southern Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina with an elevation of 4118 feet. This quaint mountain resort town boasts some of the finest dining options in the south, bespoke local retailers and businesses, and bountiful opportunities for outdoor adventure. Highlands is a true hidden gem in the Blue Ridge Mountains, where visitors can unwind and relax while enjoying fine amenities.

The Highlands Plateau Climate

The Highlands Plateau is in the southern Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. The Village is at an elevation of 4,118 sea level, making it one of the highest altitudes. Highlands enjoys an average high of 53° and low of 33° in November. Rainfall and abundant sunshine create a verdant micro climate which delights botanists, locals and visitors. In conjunction with it’s board members, Highlands Festivals works to bring value-added weekend experiences to increase visitor counts and bring revenue to local businesses and organizations.
